Transferring Zoom Meetings to Another User

In most cases, you can simply add another user as an alternate host for a meeting and you’ll be good to go. However, in some cases, like a recurring meeting for instance, it might be preferrable to transfer ownership of a meeting or series of meetings to another user. This guide will help you do that.

Step 1: Setting Up Scheduling Privileges

The person receiving the meetings (new host) should give scheduling privileges to the person sending the meetings (original host)

  1. Sign in to your CSUCI Zoom web portal
  2. In the navigation menu on the left side of the window, click Settings.
  3. Click the Meeting tab at the top of the window.
  4. Scroll down to the Schedule Privilege section (at the bottom of the page), then click Add
  5. Enter the email address of the person transferring their meetings to you in the text box (the original host).
  6. Click Save.

Step 2: Transfer Meetings

  1. Be sure the person receiving your meetings (new host) follows the steps above to give you scheduling privileges.
  2. Sign out of your Zoom desktop client and sign in again, or refresh your web interface.
  3. Go to your upcoming meeting list and click Edit for the meeting you want to transfer.
    • If transferring a series of recurring meetings, choose the Edit All Occurrences option
  4. Click the pull-down menu in the Schedule For section at the top of the screen and choose the person in the list who should be the new host of the meeting.
  5. Click Save at the bottom of the window.

Once the meeting is transferred between users, the meeting should now appear on the list of upcoming meetings for the new host on the Zoom web portal, desktop client, and mobile app.
